The third quarter of 2022 saw notable trends in the performance of the top travel and local apps on the Android platform in Latin America. Here’s a breakdown of how these apps fared in terms of weekly downloads and active users, with insights provided by Sensor Tower.

Airbnb experienced a strong quarter with weekly downloads ranging from approximately 206K to 279K. The highest downloads were recorded in the week of August 29. In terms of active users, the app saw a steady increase, peaking at around 1.67M in mid-August before settling at 1.33M by the end of September.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel had a more fluctuating performance. Weekly downloads declined from 128K at the start of the quarter to 79K by the end. Active users showed a relatively stable trend, maintaining around 2.25M to 2.52M throughout the quarter.

Google Earth maintained consistent weekly downloads, averaging around 110K to 127K. Active user numbers also remained stable, with a slight peak of approximately 876K in mid-July and ending the quarter at about 839K.

Alaska Airlines - Travel saw significant growth in weekly downloads, starting at 36K in late June and reaching up to 115K by mid-September. The app's active users mirrored this trend, increasing from around 54K to 175K by the end of the quarter.

LATAM Airlines had a relatively stable download rate, fluctuating between 40K and 56K. Active users also showed consistency, averaging around 230K to 246K throughout the quarter.
